Coal fired power plants produce large volumes
of fly ash at temperatures to 200°F from Bag
Houses and Electro Static Precipitators (ESP).
Rates of up to 50 tons/hour from a multi field
fly ash collector require reliable transfer 24
hours per day for three years between boiler maintenance
periods.
Large
ESP units with up to 60 feed points from 5 fields
are not unususal for an ash rate to 60 tons/hour
depending on coal ash quality. Here the well
established Ashveyor® system provides the economy
and reliability required for this service.
In
addition Economisers require very hot ash to
be handled at temperatures to 350°C. In this application
the Ashveyor® system uses the water-cooled Dome
Valve® for reliable operations.
Conveying
distances may be long to central storage silos
for out-loading and distances of 2000 meters
at the rate of >100 tons/hour are achieved with
the Macpump® group of conveying systems.
Both
the Denseveyor® and the Variflo® groups
are used for single feed point transfer requirements
with numerous installations in most coal burning
countries of the world.
