The steel making process creates large volumes
of fume dust from Baghouses (BH) and from Electrostatic
Precipitators (ESP). The dust is hot and heavy
and produced in large volumes in various locations
of a large steel making plant.
The Ashveyor® product
group is designed to collect the dust from the
numerous outlets of the BH or ESP and to conveying
the material to central storage locations for
off site removal or further processing.
The Ashveyor® is
unique in its ability to collect dust automatically
into small vessels for transfer through a common
pipeline. The system is small and dust free,
simple and very economical compared to traditional
methods where mechanical screws or conveyors
were used where maintenance and spillage of the
material was common.

This
method was introduced as a remarkable innovation
almost 20 years ago but is now widely in use
throughout the world where it is regarded as the
preferred method of clean and economical dust
handling.
In
addition the Denseveyor® or
the Variflo® is used for
single point feed and transfer to multiple storage
silos in pipeline systems from 2 inch to 12 inch
diameter.
The
steel industry now uses the Dome Valve® for
emptying Dust Catchers (filters) where valve
sizes to 24 inches are used. The reliable leak
proof seal arrangement of the valve and its maintenance
free operation is welcomed by the industry where
maintenance costs are always a challenge.
