Pneumatic Ash Conveying Systems for the Twenty-First Century

Today's Modern power generation industry is subject to constant change, and these changes have direct effects on the materials handling requirements of the industry.  An area which is seeing major changes is that of ash handling.  Larger plant capacities often require that ash conveying systems handle higher throughputs, and over longer distances - up to 2,000m is not unusual.  At the same time, the industry is evolving towards ever-higher levels of reliability and lower maintenance costs

As the industry looks for higher operating efficiencies and lower environmental impact, the power generation process itself is changing. Flue gas emissions control methods often change the characteristics of the ash. The trend towards high-pressure gasification demands a higher degree of sophistication of ash handling designs.
