The Variflo is specifically designed for the pneumatic conveying of bulk materials over long distances up to approximately 3200 ft (1 km). This system is also deployed when conveying materials with a wide particle size distribution. These instances require a higher material velocity to maintain material permeability, albeit remaining in a dense phase regime. Material is metered from the vessel and in the pipeline through our proprietary Dome Valve® with a modulating actuator. The valve opens and closes in response to pipeline pressure which is continuously monitored. This optimizes the velocity of the system, reducing pipe wear and maximizing capacity. Our method of line loading is essential for automatic self-regulating conveying efficiency when conveying distances are extensive. The Variflo features minimal air consumption while maintaining a clean environment with dust-free, fully enclosed conveying.
